(Summerside, P.E.)
– Break out the stompin’ boots and grab a swig of the shine because “The Ballad of Stompin Tom” is coming to Summerside.

The show, which will run until the end of August at the Harbourfront Theatre in Summerside, will open on Saturday evening June 28th to coincide with the 8th annual Atlanticade motorcycle festival.

The play, which had significant input from Connors prior to his passing, portrays an adult version of Stompin Tom putting on a concert with many of his most popular songs. It veers off throughout on various vignettes from his childhood and teen years spent roaming the country.

His home spun - grass roots lyrics shot Conners to Canadian icon status and his classic “Bud The Spud” provided a lighthearted look into the potato industry for which PEI is famous. Of course his hockey theme “The Good Ole Hockey Game” continues to ring out at hockey arenas across the country during the winter months.

There will be three levels of seating available for the show with front rows going for $65.00, mid-range seating at $47.50 and rear section seats available for $32.50. Registered participants to the motorcycle festival will get reduced prices through the Atlanticade value coupon booklet which will see savings of $15, $10 and $5 off respective level seating.

“Stompin Tom is an iconic Canadian and his life story as depicted through this stage show will be something everyone will want to see” predicted Atlanticade organizer Dale Hicks. “We are excited the opening of the show is being held during our event. It is just another aspect of our event you can’t experience elsewhere”.
