(Summerside, P.E.)
– Several PEI organizations recently
experienced the benefit of having the Atlanticade motorcycle
festival hosted in their province.

Part of the gathering of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts
from across North America is the charity aspect of the festival
which raises money for the Atlanticade Charity Fund. These
funds are collected through a variety of activities that take place
over the course of the event such as Best-In-Show competition,
50/50 draw, Cruzin-For-A-Cause, along with an auction that
occurs at the closing banquet.

As a result the festival committee was able to provide donations
to the Summerside Boys & Girls Club ($7500), PEI Special
Olympics ($1000), Muscular Dystrophy ($1000), Red Rock ‘N
Roller Derby ($1000) and the MADD East Prince Chapter ($500).
“Bikers are some of the most generous people you will find
anywhere” explained festival chairman Dale Hicks. “We are
happy to give back to the community on their behalf as a result
of these fundraising activities that take place during the event”.
Atlanticade 2014 is set for June 27th to July 1st once again in
Summerside, PEI.

The 8th annual edition will mark the third straight year the
gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts from across North America
will converge on Canada’s smallest province. Organizers will now
be busy for the next few months lining up sponsorship and
working on the wide variety of activities that will take place over
the course of the five days.

“We already have numerous inquiries from groups in the New England States and Ontario who are making plans to attend as part of their 2014 vacation. Our job is to make sure they go back home with a positive experience and tell their riding friends about the event. Word of mouth has been our best form or advertising so far” added Hicks.
